Why Sciatica Isn’t Always a Back Problem

Sciatica is often characterized by pain, numbness, tingling, or burning sensations that travel from the lower back into the hip, leg, or foot. While many people focus solely on the location of their symptoms, the true source of irritation may involve multiple areas throughout the body that are contributing to nerve tension and movement dysfunction.

At Manual Physical Therapy & Concierge Services, we take a comprehensive approach to identifying the factors that may be placing stress on the sciatic nerve. Restrictions within the spine, pelvis, hips, muscles, and fascial system can all play a role in how symptoms develop and persist. By addressing these contributing factors, we work to create lasting improvements rather than temporary relief.

Restoring Comfortable Movement and Function

Every treatment plan begins with a thorough assessment of your movement patterns, mobility, posture, and compensation strategies. This allows us to determine where dysfunction exists and how it may be affecting your symptoms.

Through our hands-on treatment approach, we focus on improving mobility, reducing tension throughout the body, and restoring more efficient movement patterns. The goal is to help decrease nerve irritation, improve daily function, and allow you to return to the activities you enjoy without constantly worrying about pain radiating down your leg.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know this will actually work for me?
We only accept patients whose problems match what the Body Recalibration Method is designed to treat. If your body has become lopsided from years of compensation, this is exactly what we address. Most patients experience 50–75% improvement by the end of the program.
How long will it take to see results?
Most people notice improvement after every session. The full program is typically about 2½ months, depending on how long you’ve been in pain and how many areas are involved.
How long will the results last?
Results are long-lasting because your body has been recalibrated to function more normally and symmetrically. You’ll receive a short 10–15 minute morning routine to maintain your progress. Monthly maintenance is optional.
How long will each treatment session last?
Each session is 60 minutes, completely hands-on and one-on-one. We work directly on your body the entire time to move you toward your goals.
Do you take insurance?
We wish insurance covered this type of care, but our holistic approach treats the entire body at once and doesn’t fit insurance guidelines. Because of that, insurance does not cover our treatment, and we do not accept insurance.”
